Analysis that goes beyond the facts
My approach to practice analysis is often a surprise to clients. Experience tells me that most practitioners already know how their business is doing from a factual standpoint — revenue, expenses, growth patterns, staff turnover rates, and so forth. Facts are good, but they don’t tell the whole story. My focus in doing a practice analysis is on identifying the root causes of the problems you are experiencing in your practice as opposed to simply sizing up the symptoms. By deepening the information gathering phase, especially as it relates to team dynamics, I can better understand your challenges and tailor the assessment and my recommendations so that they are relevant to your specific goals and objectives. Numbers and facts matter, but without context they don’t mean much.
Consulting That
Makes a Difference
The work of Beyond Practice Management is about building more effective and adaptable teams and helping you to develop your ability to learn and change — not only at an operational level but at a relational level as well.
On-Site Practice Analysis: Depending on the size and complexity of the practice, on-site assessments are conducted over a period of one, two, or three days. An important component of an on-site analysis is observing and understanding staff dynamics and how individuals work together to achieve common goals. The analysis may be combined with specific interventions, training, or team-building processes. Following a systems-based analysis, a review of your practice development efforts, and in-depth interviews with your entire team, I present a verbal summary of findings, followed by a written report and recommendations. The result is clarity, direction, and a solid foundation from which to plan.
Off-Site Practice Analysis: If you do not have the time or the resources for an on-site practice analysis, you can opt for an abbreviated version of this service. Using a sophisticated model, questionnaires, data collection, and telephone interviews, I conduct a less intense but still thorough analysis to help you plan for the future.
Practice Development Analysis: Too many practitioners are working from a marketing plan that has been pieced together — a loose amalgamation of ideas picked up from this seminar, that marketing program, or an article from last year. During the practice development assessment, I analyze what you're currently doing to grow your practice and evaluate what's working for you. Then I offer recommendations that help you design a marketing plan that is perfectly aligned with your goals, values, and practice style. The final result is a cohesive plan for sustainable growth.
A practice analysis can be conducted as a stand-alone service, prior to coaching with you and/or your team, or in preparation for a strategic planning retreat. The return on investment when you opt for a practice analysis includes new insights and strategies that you can use now and for many years to come.
